| Notice of Casual Vacancy |
In accordance with the provisions of Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, NOTICE is hereby given that by reason of the resignation of Councillors Frank Granger and Heidi Worth there are two casual vacancies on the above Ward.
In accordance with paragraph 5 of the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) Rules 2006, an election to fill the vacancies shall be held IF NOTICE IN WRITING requesting an election is given to the Returning Officer of Cornwall Council at the Cornwall Council Camborne Offices, Dolcoath Avenue, Camborne TR14 8SX (telephone 01209 614194) by TEN (or more) electors for the Ward.
In respect of this vacancy, notice must be given to the Returning Officer by Wednesday 30 June 2010. In the absence of such written notice to the Returning Officer, the Parish Council will proceed to fill the said casual vacancies by co-option. |
| Councillor Jan Ruhrmund becomes Town Mayor 2010/11 |
| At the Thirty First Annual Council Meeting on 10 May 2010, Councillor Jan Ruhrmund was chosen to serve as Town Mayor for the civic year 2010/11. Jan served as Deputy Town Mayor to Councillor Roy Mann for the previous two years. She said after the Ceremony "It is an honour to be chosen as Mayor of Penzance and serve the communities of Penzance, Newlyn, Mousehole, Heamoor, Gulval and Paul". Following the introduction of the Unitary Authority and in order to have some continuity, Councillor Roy Mann has been chosen to serve as Deputy Town Mayor. |
